Trinity

A CHURCH OF ENGLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL

Our Mission and Values

Luke 1.37 Nothing is impossible

At Trinity CEVAP School we believe that through kindness and respect we can all grow and achieve great things. Within our community, all are welcome and valued as unique individuals, knowing that together we can change lives and create a better world, where we cherish each other and the amazing creation we have been given, seeing God’s greatness in ourselves and others.

By setting high expectations in all that we do, we strive to help everyone be their best, and to develop into well rounded, individuals who “live life in all its fullness”, confident to embrace new challenges, experiences and learning both now and into the future knowing, “Nothing is impossible with God” Lk 1:37.

Trinity Vision Document

Our Golden Rules are-

We will show respect for each other through kindness – We are kind.

We will celebrate the differences between each one of us – We welcome all people.

We will protect and take care of God’s creation and all living things – We take care of our world.

The Trinity Tree

In 2019 we participated in the Colourful Communities Project with the local company PPG. As part of the project we created the Trinity Value Tree - this represents all the values the school encourages, taught through  the Imaginor Collective Worship programmes- Jack in the Box, Values for Life and the more modern Roots and Fruits - values of Generosity, Compassion, Courage, Forgiveness, Friendship, Respect, Thankfulness, Trust, Perseverance, Justice, Service, Truthfulness, Wisdom, Peace, Hope, Creativity, Thoughtfulness, Humility and Responsibility

Also included on the tree are the key words from our Golden rules at that time-

We Value - each other, honesty, respect, knowledge, all people, our community, kindness and our world.

These together with our British values of democracy, liberty, mutual respect, tolerance and the rule of the law, come together to form our unique tree which is also reflected in the school's crest.

The Church of England's Vision for Education

The Church of England’s Vision for education

Our vision for education is deeply Christian, with Jesus' promise of 'life in all its fullness' at its heart.
The Church of England's vision is for the common good of the whole community -

Educating for wisdom, knowledge and skills: enabling discipline, confidence and delight in seeking wisdom and knowledge, and developing talents in all areas of life.

Educating for hope and aspiration: enabling healing, repair and renewal, coping wisely when things go wrong, opening horizons and guiding people into ways of fulfilling them.

Educating for community and living well together: a core focus on relationships, participation in communities and the qualities of character that enable people to flourish together.

Educating for dignity and respect: the basic principle of respect for the value and preciousness of each person, treating each person as a unique individual of inherent worth.

Collective Worship

Our Collective Worship is based on Roots and Fruits/ Values for Life and Jack in the Box programmes by Imaginor publishing. As an Anglican School, we celebrate major Church Festivals such as Harvest, Christmas, The Epiphany and Easter, and children learn the significance of these in the Church calendar and teachings.

Collective worship occurs each morning and gives the children a chance to

explore Christian themes, and through these gain further understanding of other world views and faiths, reflecting upon what these mean to them personally as well as to others.  At Trinity, children lead the prayer and reflection element of worship and have the opportunity to take part in acting out stories and situations. We share the  Collective Worship theme with our parents through Newsletters and through a Collective Worship sheet sent home each half term so parents can support and reinforce our teachings and values.

Every other week the ‘Open the Book’ Team from St Mary’s and St Peter’s Church in Stowmarket come to the school to lead Collective worship and to act out one of the stories from the Bible with the children participating - their visits are hugely popular.

Parents are invited to attend Class led Worship - a celebration of learning - every term.

At the end of each term we hold a service at our local church to which parents are warmly invited. We also visit places of worship of other faiths and welcome visitors from other faiths into the school to participate in acts of worship and teaching in RE.

Our Christian values permeate all aspects of our school life and we ask that above all, members of our community are kind towards each other and treat others as they would like to be treated themselves – this ethos, we believe contributes significantly to the happy, harmonious school Trinity CEVAP is.

We Are 10!

Trinity CEVAP turned 10 in September 2024. As part of our celebrations, we held a Eucharist Service which was led by Bishop Martin and Rev. Sarah. Members of our community were invited to attend and we were delighted to see parents, governors, parishioners and members of the Diocese celebrating with us.

Bishop Martin visited every class throughout the morning which the children enjoyed especially when they learnt that Bishop Martin had visited the school when it first opened in 2014!

In the afternoon, we had a tea party where everyone enjoyed eating delicious cakes and treats. We also sang happy birthday to Trinity CEVAP when Mrs Curran-Spain lit the candles on the special Trinity cake.

We have thoroughly enjoyed the first 10 years and look forward to the next 10 which we are certain will be just as exciting, fulfilling and memorable as the first 10.
